TNA UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT CROWNS FIRST-EVER CHAMPION By Alex Iz The TNA U Washburn chapter has just been named the first ever TNA U Tournament Champions. For months, students across the country have been hard at work passing out flyers, hanging posters and doing everything they can to spread the word about TNA Wrestling. The groups TNA U refers to as "Chapters" receive credits for every promotional TNA U related work they do. TNAWrestling has been listing the top 10 TNA U Chapters on their website monthly. Every month, TNA U Chapters can check the site to see where they rank in the standings. The TNA U Tournament was extremely competitive to the very last day, as only a one point separated the first, second and third place winners. TNA U Wasburn will be receiving a special TNA Impact viewing party featuring TNA talent. The other chapters who competed in the program will also receive a variety of prizes. The next TNA U Tournament will begin in May and commence in August. The next Champions will be crowned at that time. The TNA U Washburn Chapter has active since December 2007.Chapter leader, Rob Welcher has traveled to other wrestling shows and handed out promotional materials for TNA pay per views as well as TNA iMPACT! Rob has published a variety of YouTube videos showcasing what he has been doing throughout the tournament. He's even had six TNA based ads published in the Washburn Review, which is his school paper. Rob's creativity did not stop there; he recently filmed a TNA Lockdown commercial promoting the pay per view and TNA Univeristy program. This commercial was aired on a local station in his area. This is all in addition to updating his TNA U MYSpace page with pictures, blogs and videos on a weekly basis. Rob says the following about the TNA Univeristy Program, "I feel that the TNA U program is not only challenging my extremely fun. I've been training with my local indy promotion for a few months now and I realize that I may never make it, so while I do that and work towards my BA in Mass Media Studies, I have the opportunity to have contact with by far the premier professional wrestling organization the world. I feel that the company really cares about what we as chapters are doing to spread the word about great wrestling, great entertainment and a great company!" The TNA University Program was designed to allow TNA Wrestling fans the opportunity to assist in promoting the Total Nonstop Wrestling brand. Fans from across the world are currently participating in the program. Though the program is aimed towards college students anyone who is excited about TNA Wrestling can participate. TNA U members work directly in contact with TNA Wrestling and are privy to insider information. Never before has there been a program in the history of Sports Entertainment that allows fans to work directly with a top wrestling organization. TNA U even has it's own web show called TNA U TV.
