DOWN IN THE PIT: AN INTERVIEW WITH TNA WRESTLING KNOCKOUT "ODB" By Ryan Jevec (Ryan Jevec, a contributing writer for TNAwrestling.com, is ringside in the famous “Pit” of the absolute rowdiest fans at every TNA event in Orlando, Florida, and presents a cutting edge perspective on the pressing issues in TNA Wrestling.)  She’s rough, she’s tough, blessed with great looks and possesses a style all her own. She’s quick-witted, athletically gifted, exudes charisma and has a never say die attitude. Not only is she the most lauded personality in all of the TNA Knockouts, but she is arguably the hottest commodity in TNA Wrestling today. Just who is this previously unheralded individual that I speak of? Why she is the One Dirty Bitch, or O.D.B., and she is taking Total Nonstop Action Wrestling by storm.Ever since the debut of O.D.B. at last year’s Bound for Glory, she has been on a tear through TNA Wrestling that has seen her come close to becoming the TNA Knockout Champion, on two separate occasions. And while she has not yet been able to capture the gold, she nonetheless has remained and overwhelming fan favorite to this very day. However, it is no secret as to how she has become so popular and well respected in such a short period of time. For in the world of professional wrestling, athleticism and personality are integral to success. Athleticism allows the stars of the world of wrestling the opportunity to perform breathtaking maneuvers and personality enables that star to separate themselves from the rest of the pack by being something different. O.D.B. clearly has mastered both of these skill sets and has seemingly broken the mold for how a female wrestler should look and act. She along with the rest of the TNA Knockouts are quickly showing the entire industry of professional wrestling how far along women’s wrestling has come. No longer needed are the days of scantily-clad arm candy rolling around performing mindless pillow fights. The women of TNA combine beauty and power and sheer athleticism that no other wrestling entity can possibly compete with. But while the in-ring exploits of O.D.B. are well documented (see TNA iMPACT!), just who is the O.D.B. and what makes her so determined? Following a recent taping of TNA iMPACT!, O.D.B. offered up a few minutes of her time to answer some questions that will help give a bit of an insight into just who she is and perhaps, what she is capable of. Tracing her roots back all the way to her initial entry into the world of professional wrestling, prepare to get an uncensored dose of “BAMMM,” as One Dirty Bitch speaks her mind.. JEVEC: How exactly did you get the name O.D.B.? O.D.B.: Well, growing up, I would beat my older brother up in front of his girlfriends and he would always scream ‘you’re one dirty bitch’ and I would just laugh in his face! Ha, BAMMMMMMM! JEVEC: Wow, sounds like some seriously tough love. Now that we are talking about the past, tell us a little bit about your background in professional wrestling. O.D.B: I was trained in Minneapolis, MN by Eddie Sharkey. I traveled all over the states to every indy fed possible. I’ve packed up my truck quite a few times to further my career. I ended up moving to Nashville and then made a move to Louisville, KY to train. That was one of the best experiences ever. Al Snow and Danny Davis helped out sooooo much and got me where I am at today. JEVEC: No doubt many of your experiences have helped to shape who you are today. Now being a part of the phenomenon that is TNA Wrestling, what has your experience been like thus far with the company? O.D.B.: I'm still pinching myself. All I gots to say is you haven’t seen nuttin’ yet. JEVEC: I’m sure I’m not the only one excited to see what you have planned and can ultimately accomplish. When you made your grand debut for TNA Wrestling in the Knockouts Gauntlet Battle Royal at Bound for Glory, what was that like for you personally? O.D.B.: When I was stumbling down that ramp and makin’ my way into the ring, I knew right then that this is where I belong. JEVEC: The fans certainly love you and think you belong. Speaking of heading to the ring and entrances, you have what many would consider one of the most unique entrances when you come to the ring. Where do you draw that from? O.D.B.: Honestly, I was just messing around one day being goofy or drunk and doing the Boogie Woogie Man dance. (laughing) And I kinda made it my own thing. JEVEC: Would you mind sharing with us all just what is inside that flask you bring to the ring? O.D.B.: Don’t you worry about it! JEVEC: Ok, no problem, moving on to the next topic….You obviously have made a huge impact with all of the fans all around the world from your very first match in TNA....they seem to absolutely go crazy as soon as they hear your entrance music. What do you make of the reception you receive each time you appear? O.D.B.: It’s freakin’ ridiculous! (laughing) I’m crazy and don’t give a rats ass, and people can relate to that. I’m not your typical girl. I’m not 90 lbs., blonde and blowing kisses while shaking my ass. I drink, grab my fun bags and slap my own ass!! BAMMMMM!!! JEVEC: In some ways, I think many of the fans identify personally with your demeanor. Fans all across the globe certainly adore you and your anything goes attitude. And with that anything goes mentality, ever since your debut, you have been a dominant force in TNA, carving up the competition. This inevitably rocketed you to two Knockout Title shots, including a streetfight rematch against Awesome Kong. Although you came up short in your quest for the title thus far, what positives did you gain from those contests? O.D.B.: It showed that I can hang. I’m not stopping either till I get that big bitch down for the 1 2 3…which comes at Destination X! JEVEC: One of your signature moves is known as the "dirty dozen." How would you describe this maneuver? O.D.B.: You need an explanation for that?! HA! BAMMMMM!! JEVEC: Um, ok. I think I speak for all the fans and say that is one hell of a visual. Looking to all of that other women in the company, how does it feel to be part of a special group like the TNA Knockouts? O.D.B.: Awesome! We all came from the indies and have been on the road for years together and to see all of us together making history is pretty damn amazing. JEVEC: You are the first TNA Knockout to have your very own shirt for sale. How does that feel and what do you think of the shirt? O.D.B.: Well, I’m hated by most girls for it!! (laughing) But I like it. It’s pretty cool that TNA decided to give a bitch a shot. There will be more to come. JEVEC: What are your short term plans in TNA Wrestling? O.D.B.: No short term plans here. I’m here to see TNA explode. JEVEC: What are your long term plans in wrestling? O.D.B.: To be a legend and a hall of famer in this business. I’m not cocky, I’m very confident in myself. I plan to open a new door in women’s wrestling. AND REMEMBER I’M NOT JUST ANOTHER PRETTY FACE! BAMMMMMMMMMMM! JEVEC: Do you have any special message that you'd like to send to the fans of TNA Wrestling? O.D.B.: CHEERS BITCHES!! JEVEC: Well, I’d certainly like to thank you for taking the time to sit down and answer a few questions to let the fans know a little bit more about what makes the O.D.B. tick.
